Fennex celebrates the presentation of the King’s Award for Enterprise

Fennex showcases expanded office space as it celebrates the presentation of the King’s Award for Enterprise On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, Fennex, a leading Scottish AI digital technology company, was formally presented with the King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. The event took place at the company’s expanded office space in Aberdeen’s ONE Tech Hub and was attended by customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

The presentation was conducted by Aberdeen’s Lord Lieutenant, David Cameron. The occasion highlighted Fennex’s achievements in international trade and its recent office expansion within ONE Tech Hub, where the company is now the largest tenant.

Fennex has reported a 300% growth in export sales over the past three years, with 70% of its business now international. The company employs 30 staff members representing 12 nationalities, with 35% women in the workforce and half of leadership roles held by women. Structured professional development programs have enabled many employees to progress from graduate hires to senior positions.

Fennex’s AI-powered safety solutions, including BBSS™ (Behaviour Based Safety Solutions) and Windsafe™, are designed for the offshore industry and are used by a global client base in oil, gas, and offshore wind sectors. Clients include EnQuest, Noble Inc, Transocean, Stena Drilling, Shelf Drilling, Valaris, Dolphin Drilling, Bluefloat/Nadara, Totalenergies, ExxonMobil, and Chevron.

The company maintains strong links with local universities, offering internships and development opportunities to support regional skills development.

Nassima Brown, Co-founder and Strategy Director at Fennex, stated that the award recognizes the company’s success in growing overseas exports and its commitment to innovation in safety solutions for high-risk sectors. Brown also acknowledged the support from Opportunity North East (ONE) and the importance of the company’s Aberdeen roots.

Jennifer Craw MBE, CEO at ONE, commented on Fennex’s journey from startup to international scale-up, highlighting the company’s ambition, innovation, and impact on the regional digital tech ecosystem.

The King’s Award presentation was attended by over 80 guests and marked a significant milestone in Fennex’s ongoing growth and global impact. The event included tours of the new office space and networking opportunities for attendees.

Founded in 2016 by Adrian and Nassima Brown, Fennex develops cloud-based safety and business process solutions for the energy sector. The company is expanding its portfolio to support the global shift towards renewable energy and broader offshore and onshore applications.
