Earlier this month, five members of the FENNEX team took on the annual Run Garioch 10K in Inverurie, just a short distance from our Aberdeen headquarters.
Representing FENNEX on the day were Managing Director Adrian Brown, Bozhidar Yankov, Matthew Swinbank, Jakub Pitula, and Douglas Boler, who completed the course while raising awareness and supporting DEBRA UK, the national charity for people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
EB is a rare and extremely painful genetic skin condition that causes the skin to blister and tear from even minor friction or contact. DEBRA UK provides support to individuals and families affected by the condition while funding research into effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
For the FENNEX team, the event held particular significance through Douglas's personal connection to the EB community. Inspired by the resilience of those living with the condition and the important work being carried out by DEBRA UK, the team wanted to use the event as an opportunity to raise awareness and contribute to a cause close to their hearts.
While the runners may have had different goals and finishing times, they shared a common purpose: supporting an important charity, raising awareness of a condition that affects thousands of people across the UK, and taking part in a fantastic community event.
We would like to thank everyone who donated, shared words of encouragement, or helped spread awareness of DEBRA UK's work. We are proud to have played a small part in supporting such an important mission and look forward to continuing our support in the future.
