Fennex Wins Prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

Kings award winner

We are thrilled to announce that Fennex Ltd has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise 2025, the UK’s most prestigious accolade for business excellence. Announced today, Tuesday 6 May, this award recognises Fennex’s outstanding achievement in International Trade, highlighting our exceptional short-term growth in overseas sales over the past three years.

Only 197 businesses across the UK received this honour in 2025, and we are proud to be one of them—representing both the energy and digital sectors from our base in Aberdeen, Scotland.

A Celebration of Global Impact

Since our founding in 2016, international trade has been integral to our mission: driving global digital transformation in the energy sector. Today, our advanced cloud-based platforms—including our flagship Behavioural Based Safety Solution (BBSS™)—are used on more than 70 operated assets across 20+ countries, with 42 enterprise end-users. Exporting accounts for over 66% of our revenue, and we’re only just getting started.

“We are immensely proud to have achieved the King’s Award for Enterprise. It’s an accolade for our entire team and recognition of our standout performance in delivering value to global energy leaders,” said Nassima Brown, Strategy Director at Fennex. “This achievement underlines our ambition to shape the future of the energy industry—enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and safety while strengthening Scotland’s position as a global tech innovation hub.”

Rooted in Aberdeen, Growing Worldwide

Headquartered in the ONE Tech Hub in Aberdeen, Fennex is a growing team of 27 digital specialists and industry veterans. The company was founded by Adrian and Nassima Brown—energy professionals with over 25 years of international experience—who built Fennex with a bold vision: to digitise and improve safety culture and operational excellence in high-risk offshore environments.

Our work spans across key global regions, including the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. We’ve secured major contracts with industry leaders such as Valaris, Shelf Drilling, and Noble Corporation, and we are planning to double in size over the next 24 months.

Sir Ian Wood KT GBE, Chair of Opportunity North East, offered his congratulations:

“Fennex cuts across two exciting growth sectors of digital technology and green energy. This accolade is testament to their focus, ambition, and success in taking world-class digital products from Aberdeen to international markets.”

Exporting: A Strategic Growth Engine

Exporting has always been at the heart of Fennex’s growth strategy—not just as a revenue driver, but as a catalyst for innovation, brand recognition, and industry leadership. Our digital solutions are scalable, cloud-native, and designed to address the complex challenges faced by global energy operators. With each successful implementation, we open new doors to customers, markets, and investment opportunities.

International trade enables us to:

  • Diversify revenue and strengthen financial resilience
  • Build strategic partnerships with global operators
  • Scale innovation across borders
  • Attract top talent to work on high-impact, global projects

Looking Ahead

We are committed to expanding our presence in key growth regions including North America, Europe, and the Middle East, while pioneering safety and assurance solutions for emerging markets such as offshore wind and carbon capture.

This King’s Award is not just a recognition of where we’ve come from—it’s a milestone on our journey to becoming a global leader in AI-powered digital transformation for energy.

To our clients, partners, supporters, and especially our talented team—thank you. This award belongs to all of you.
